JOB SUMMARY
The person in this role will be responsible for submitting the Morning Rack report which is due daily before 6:30 AM. Supports pricing decisions including rate levels, tariff filings to ensure regulatory compliance, conference interactions, and the negotiation and execution of bids and contracts.
SALARY
Starting at $75K – commensurate with experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Advise, implement, and coordinate terminal pricing strategies to accomplish the strategic directives of the business unit.
- Implement pricing methodologies and work processes.
- Monitor markets and provide periodic analysis of those markets that help support terminal pricing strategies/decisions.
- Interface with Operations, Sales, and Finance.
- Participate in all sales meetings.
- Activities are centered on market analysis and resulting input on terminal pricing levels and pricing structures related to quantity discounts, freight delivery rates and more.
- Includes pricing support for finance/accounting on supplier and freight management activities.
- Maintain deal/margin integrity as the economic gatekeeper.
- Update tables with Fuel Surcharge (FSC) changes from various freight carriers and calculate / update FSC for select customers.
- Provide maintenance support with pricing and freight setups.
- Reconcile disputes in invoicing / pricing and other issues with suppliers.
- Pricing policy decisions and the determination of the pricing structure are usually referred to higher authority.
- Keep various departments (such as freight services and sales) informed of all pricing matters including competitive positioning.
- Report to Manager, Supply Chain Services.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ year of pricing experience
- Experience with fuels a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of Power BI is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred, with transportation/logistics a major plus.
