JOB SUMMARY
The Grains manager is responsible for inspecting and sampling deliveries to ensure quality and other specifications are met. The position weighs and directs truck deliveries and loads/unloads truck and rail cars. Manager is responsible to ensure that daily operations are done in a safe and timely manner by planning, directing and coordinating with current staff.
SALARY
Starting at $60K – Commensurate with experience
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor inbound/outbound deliveries through the scale house Inspect and sample (prove) grain from the trucks.
- Oversee unloading of grain trains and or trucks
- Oversee the operations of Ethanol Loadout and or railcars
- Enter shipping data into the computer
- Perform preventative and general maintenance and general housekeeping duties including cleaning grain equipment, scale, wet cake pad, grain receivers and rail areas
- Follow all safety guidelines to ensure compliance
- Provide leadership support in the grains department and assist with performance appraisals
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience in logistics, warehousing or distribution
- Previous supervisory or management experience preferred
- Experience operating forklifts, tractors or other heavy equipment required
- Knowledge of rolling stock and railcar operations preferred
- Experience with machine operations and assembly lines a plus
- High school degree or GED
