JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician needs to have a strong electrical experience. They will be expected to install, assemble and test new machines and equipment as well as being experienced in performing emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electric and hydraulic. They will identify and replace worn or damaged parts in a timely manner. This person will need to be able to communicate openly with supervisors and other employees to assure smooth shift operation and changeover when working on equipment.

SALARY

$18-$25/hr – Commensurate with experience

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Install, assemble and test new machines and equipment
  • Inspect machines regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual inspections, listening for irregular noises and conducting scheduled testing as appropriate
  • Monitor, identify and respond promptly to signs of malfunction in machinery such as changes in performance, temperature fluctuations, sounds, smells or atypical energy usage; perform troubleshooting for production machinery.
  • Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment.
  • Understand and comply with workplace safety regulations.
  • Ability to communicate openly with supervisors and other employees to assure smooth shift operation and changeover when working on equipment.
  • Perform emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electric and hydraulic; identify and replace worn or damaged parts in a timely manner.
  • Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions.
  • Experience and understanding of blueprint reading, plumbing, carpentry, operation of shop equipment three-phase power and electrical systems, hydraulics.
  • Proficient in mathematics: addition, subtraction, multiplication & division to include calculations using fractions and metrics.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of industrial or manufacturing equipment maintenance and troubleshooting experience
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience
  • Experience working with AC/DC systems with 480 volts and under is required
  • PLC troubleshooting experience
  • Highschool or GED
