“JCSI provides a structured framework and provide status reports. With other agencies you don’t get that, it’s more of an informal exchange. In this case it’s more structured and that makes it easier to manage. Things move quickly in our environment and we need to move quickly with candidates. JCSI provides a number of candidates, and resumes, and a framework for managing that.”
Flexibility
“Because JCSI is structured to search against your criteria it is basically a variable expense, that you can put as much resources or as little against that as you want. Our needs can change sometimes in a quarter or two. When you are a small company and you lose one person you may have to get off what you are doing in one hand and refocus and find that replacement. The fact that you can back burner one search, reapply hours, and focus on another search makes is easier to allocate resources. JCSI can pretty much turn on a dime.”
JCSI Team Structure
“The initial focus, with the account manager helping you fine tune the search criteria and then another group of specialists takes that and performs the search. Then you have another group doing the filtering and screening. That’s very helpful. In the past, our VP went on Monster, found 800 resumes and got bogged down and stuck. I decided that we’re not doing that anymore, and we’re going with JCSI. “
JCSI vs. The Agency Model
“When you work with JCSI you have a good sense that what you are seeing is a good cross section to everything that is out there; that in contrast to a headhunter or a classical or retained search where you feel more like you are relying on them and their network, their rolodex, and people that they represent. It is like you are being sold something as opposed to a cross section of what may be out there. I think the JCSI model is a different model and it is more effective, I don’t think you have that conflict of interest.“
