Best of both worlds
“We had the best of both worlds. We had a scenario where we’re spending an hourly rate for a person’s efforts, we can somewhat control the person’s efforts, peaks and valleys, we weren’t limited to the resources of one individual. They bring multiple resources to the table, there’s multiple people doing this, there’s multiple databases they’re looking in. I think it was the advantage of the bigger organizational effort without the disadvantage of an obscenely large hiring fee“
Institutional Memory
“What jogged my mind is that we had an institutional relationship with an institutional memory of candidates and needs with JCSI, versus contract recruiting where we had to start from scratch every time. No retraining, no reevaluation. I was confident the process would remain the same and there would be at least somebody who had worked with us in the past. I was confident that we would have more visibility for a better intermittent relationship than restarting it every time, as with a contract recruiter.”
Quality Hires
“JCSI has provided a number of really good hires, I think they’re better hires than we could have come up with using our existing resources at the time, without having someone truly dedicated to recruiting which was our circumstance. There’s no way we could have made those hires—with the quality they were—for the money we spent, there just isn’t a chance. I would have had to utilize another resource, and I’m not sure we would’ve gotten that many hires at the cost we got.”
Flexibility
“JCSI allows a lot of flexibility with what I’m doing, as the needs of the organization peak and valley. This flexibility allows me to control the budget, the paper flow, so we don’t get overwhelmed with resumes. It allows me to prioritize needs myself. It allows me to prioritize what they’re working on, to be able to manipulate hours, move hours, or save money by cutting hours, or just reallocation of hours. All of which we have opportunities to do, all of which seems to have worked out pretty well.“
