JCSI on the New England Job Show
I had an opportunity to film a segment on social media for the New England Job Show recently. If you’re not familiar with them, the New England Job Show is a TV show about helping job seekers succeed in their job search. Shows are streamed on their website at NEJS.org and they are available on TV on Comcast OnDemand in the Local Programs area.
In this episode, we talked about the rising influence of social media and the important role it plays in the job search and interview process. As important as social media is to recruiters, it is probably even more critical for a job seeker. Never before have there been so many opportunities for a candidate to demonstrate what they can offer a company through the insight they post in social media communities online. In addition, by using tools like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn, they can connect directly with recruiters and hiring managers to discuss positions. That is some of what we discuss in the video here:
Working with their team was a pleasure, and what’s better, they share our passion for the importace of social media. I hope we can turn this episode into an ongoing series of discussions.
